Abstract
On August 26, 2024, the outstanding St. Petersburg musician, Doctor of Art Criticism, Professor of St. Petersburg Conservatory, an Honored Artist of Russia, Leonid Evgenyevich Gakkel passed away at 89. A scholar and music critic, pianist and teacher, expert in the history of piano art and chronicler of Russian musical life, a brilliant lecturer, he considered enlightenment his main mission. The article is devoted to reflections on the late period of the Master and Artist, which began with his eleventh book, “The Blessing of Fatigue” (2011).
