Olga E. Bochikhina

Composer, lecturer and associate Professor at Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory. In 2005, she graduated from Moscow Conservatory where she studied composition with Vladimir Tar­no­polski and completed a post-graduate course in 2008. From 2009 to 2011, she studied under the Specialized Master of Arts program at the Higher School of Music at the Basel Academy of Music in Switzerland (composition with Erik Oña, theory with Jakob Ullmann). Olga is a prize-winner of domestic and international com­petitions and scholar of the Swiss Confederation (2009 to 2011). She has repeatedly taken part in international master classes and attended academies of contemporary music, including Young Composers Meetings in 2004, in Apel­doorn, the Netherlands, and Impuls in 2009, in Graz, Austria. She is an initiator and organizer of a number of international projects with the participation of contemporary music ensembles. Among the performers of her works are Studio for New Music, the Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra, the Svetlanov State Academic Symphony Orchestra of Russia, the Orkest de Ereprijs (the Netherlands), the Ensemble Modern, the Russian Philharmonic Orchestra, London Sinfonietta, the Phoenix Ensemble (Switzerland), the Cikada String Quartet (Sweden), Quasars Ensemble, Türmchen Ensemble (Germany), Mark Pekarsky’s Percussion Ensemble; and conductors V. Gergiev, V. Jurowski, I. Dronov, S. Kondrashev, F. Chizhevsky, I. Volkov and J. Henneberger. Bochikhina’s music has been performed at Russian and European international festivals in Germany, the Netherlands, France, Austria, Slovenia, Italy, Sweden and Switzerland.
