This obituary is dedicated to the memory of Mikhail Grigorievich Byalik—an outstanding musicologist, pianist, and music critic, for many years published in Russian and foreign publications about music, including the “Music Academy” journal. The author recalls M. G. Byalik not only as an active participant in public cultural life but also as a person who left a deep mark on the hearts of colleagues, students and friends.
