The author draws a portrait of a vigorous musicologist and an outstanding editor-in-chief of the “Sovetskaya muzyka” journal (since 1992—“Muzykal’naya akademiya / Music Academy”), Yuri S. Korev, against a background of his era. Numerous round tables, hot journal discussions and highly topical unique research—all of this was a lifetime work of a well-built editorial board and one man who was seen as a real leader.
