Abstract

In the interview composer, professor of the Composition Department of the Gnesins Russian Academy of Music Andrey I. Golovin talks about the work on recent compositions and the premiere of “Sinfonia concertante” for oboe and orchestra. The composition was performed in the Moscow concert hall “Zaryadye” in November 2022. The article discusses the compositional process, artistic and musical content of this opus. Also the interview spotlights compositional techniques, traditionalism and innovation in contemporary music, and meaning of the creativity as a whole. In addition, the material contains a small conversation about Golovin’s literary preferences.
