Anatoly Korolyov: “Nobody Understands Nothing, and It’s All a Game”
In 2024, the Honoured Art Worker of Russia, Professor, Head of the Department of Orchestration and General Composition at Rimsky-Korsakov St. Petersburg State Conservatory, composer Anatoly Korolyov celebrated his 75th anniversary. In conversation with the composer, Vladislav Grigoriev found out when the Computer Music discipline appeared at the Conservatory, who was its initiator and what music in computer games should be like, asked about new technologies and the possibility of a “Skynet” analogue, discussed the potential blocking of YouTube in Russia, environmental problems and the activities of Greta Thunberg, and also found out whether electronic music will supplant acoustic music, what prospects multimedia compositions have and what kayaking is.
