Marianna S. Vysotskaya

Doctor of Art Criticism, Professor, Head of the Contemporary Music Department, Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory. Member of the Union of Moscow Composers. Graduated with honors from Moscow Conservatory with three qualifications: organ, musicology, contemporary interpreter practice. Studied at the Luxembourg Conservatory as an organist. The main sphere of interest is 20th century music in a wide range of phe­no­mena: genre-style processes, composi­tional techniques, modern composer creativity, problems of performance. Author of articles, books “Mezhdu logikoy i paradoksom: kompo­zitor Faradzh Karaev” [“Between Logic and Para­dox: Composer Faradzh Karaev”] (2012), “Muzyka XX: ot avangarda k postmodernu” [“Mu­sic of the 20th Century: From Avant garde to Postmo­dern”] (co-authored with G. V. Grigorieva).
