Marianna S. Vysotskaya
Doctor of Art Criticism, Professor, Head of the Contemporary Music Department, Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory. Member of the Union of Moscow Composers. Graduated with honors from Moscow Conservatory with three qualifications: organ, musicology, contemporary interpreter practice. Studied at the Luxembourg Conservatory as an organist. The main sphere of interest is 20th century music in a wide range of phenomena: genre-style processes, compositional techniques, modern composer creativity, problems of performance. Author of articles, books “Mezhdu logikoy i paradoksom: kompozitor Faradzh Karaev” [“Between Logic and Paradox: Composer Faradzh Karaev”] (2012), “Muzyka XX: ot avangarda k postmodernu” [“Music of the 20th Century: From Avant garde to Postmodern”] (co-authored with G. V. Grigorieva).
