Yuriy V. Vasil’ev
Born in 1953. Graduated from Rimsky-Korsakov Leningrad State Conservatory as musicologist in 1978. Received candidate’s degree in 1987. His dissertation was devoted to Tchaikovsky’s manuscripts (scientific supervisor — E. Ruch’evskaya). Worked at Zhiganov Kazan State Conservatory, Tver’ State University. Since 1994 he has been working at The Gnesins Russian Academy of Music, the Department of Music History. Vasil’ev’s publications are part of scientific collections of The Gnesins Russian Academy of Music, Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory, the State Institute for Art Studies. Scientific interests: stylistic, analytical and textual aspects of the heritage of M. Glinka, S. Rachmaninov, P. Tchaikovsky.
