Candidate of Art Criticism, Associate Professor of the Department of Music History of the Gnesins Russian Academy of Music, Associate Professor of the Department of Music History and Theory of the Faculty of Church Singing of St. Tikhon Orthodox Humanitarian University. Candidate Dissertation: “Traditions of Greek Rhetoric in Byzantine Hymnographic Art (on the Material of Singing Manuscripts of the 11th–15th Centuries).” Research interests: Byzantine, post-Byzantine and Russian church singing culture, modern Russian choral music, musical medieval studies, paleography, codicology, source studies. I. P. Shekhovtsova is the author of more than 40 scientific publications, editor-compiler of several collected papers, organizer of several scientific and practical conferences and a regular participant in major international scientific forums dedicated to various aspects of liturgical musicology.
