Elena M. Shabshaevich

Born in Moscow. Graduated from the Faculty of Music Theory and Composition, and then from the postgraduate school at Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory. Doctoral Dissertation: “Mu­sical Life in Moscow and Its Reflection in Piano Concert Practice” (2012). Professor of the De­part­ment of Philosophy, History, Theory of Cul­ture and Art of Schnittke Moscow State Insti­tute of Music; Senior Researcher at “Moscow Conservatory Press.” Scientific interests: Russian musical life of the 19th—early 20th centuries, Russian-European cultural ties, as well as the history of piano music and musical theater. She is the author of about 100 scientific articles and 3 monographs.
