Marina V. Karaseva

Honored Art Worker of the Russia, Doctor of Art Criticism, Professor at the Music Theory Department, Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory. Born in Moscow in 1958. She graduated with honors from Moscow Conservatory and its postgraduate school (scien­tific supervisor Yu. N. Kholopov). From 1982 to 1992 she was a teacher of music theoretical disciplines at the Central Music School. From 1982 to the present, she teaches ear training and harmony at Moscow Conservatory. Author of the ear training methodology based on the 20th cen­tury music, including the textbook “Modern Solfeggio” and the monograph “Solfeggio—Psy­cho­technics of Ear Training,” methodological programs and articles on ear training, creative acti­vity, intonation-linguistic sensitivity and digi­tal teaching in musical education. She gives presen­tations at international congresses and conducts master classes in various cities of Russia and abroad. Member of the Russian Composers Union. Co-founder and curator of the social network for musicians Splayn.com. Producer of films created at the Moscow Conservatory “Organ Symphony” (2019) and “Searching Harmony” (2023).
