Lyubov A. Kupets

Graduated from Kaliningrad Regional Music College (1983) and Petrozavodsk branch of Rimsky-Korsakov Leningrad State Conservatory (1988). Candidate of Art Criticism (1995, Russian Institute of Art History, St. Petersburg); dissertation: “Claude Debussy’s chamber vocal work in the context of French artistic culture of the late 19th—early 20th centuries (experience of historical and cultural interpretation).” Since 1988 she has been working at Glazunov Petrozavodsk State Conservatory, since 1991—at the Department of Music History, since 1995—also at the Department of Music of the Finno-Ugric Peoples, since 1998—Associate Professor, since 2018—Head of the Department Finno-Ugric Music. Member of the Union of Russian Composers (2010), Honored Worker of the Higher School of the Russian Federation (2012). Area of professional interests: sociology of music, French musical art of the second half of the 19th—early 20th centuries, receptive research, methodology of historical musicology. Author of the book “Musical Picture of the World in the Artistic Process: Research Essays” (2014), as well as more than 80 articles and teachers’ resource books.
