Alla V. Grigorieva
Born on October 9, 1940 in Moscow. Musicologist, music critic, music journalist, editor. Member of the Union of Composers of the USSR / Russia, the Union of Composers of Moscow. In 1963 she graduated from the State Musical Pedagogical Institute (now The Gnesins Russian Academy of Music), class of V. O. Berkov. The sphere of artistic interests is music of the 20th and 21st centuries, as well as the spiritual culture of the Fatherland. Author of more than 200 articles devoted to current issues of modern composers’ and performers’ creativity. While working in the Editorial Office of Musical and Educational Broadcasts of the Main Music Editorial Office of the State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company, she became the author of several hundred essays, conversations, radio cycles, reports, and music reviews. As the editor of the “Soviet Music” / “Music Academy” journal, she has been constantly published both as an author and as a participant in “round tables,” editorial conversations held by the magazine in various republics and regions of the former USSR and Russia, initiated new projects (in particular, special issues “Music Academy,” dedicated to the musical culture of St. Petersburg, the work of D. D. Shostakovich, the musical cultures of Estonia, Lithuania, Ukraine, Belarus, Chuvashia and other topics). A. Grigorieva contributed as author, editor and editor-compiler to nine issues of the collection “Music of Russia.” At the Union of Moscow Composers, A. Grigorieva headed the Section of Musicology and Music Criticism (1986–2023). She collaborated with the Moscow State Philharmonic Society as a member of the Expert Council and leading editor (2006–2023).
