Natal’ya A. Govar

Born in 1965 in Alma-Ata. Graduated from the piano department of Baiseitova Secondary Spe­cialized Music School in 1983. In 1983 entered the piano department of The Gnesins State Music and Pedagogical Institute, where she completed an assistantship and internship. Since 1996, she has taught in the piano department of The Gne­sins Russian Academy of Music. In 2013, she de­fended her candidate dissertation, “Piano minia­ture in the works of Russian composers of the second half of the 20th– early 21st centuries: issues of style and interpretation.” From 2015 to 2017, she conducted research as a part of the “Russian Piano Culture of the 20th Century (Based on Miniatures)” project, supported by the Rus­sian Humanitarian Scientific Foundation. In 2024, she defended her doctoral dissertation, “Piano miniatures by Russian composers of the 20th and first quarter of the 21st centuries as a histo­rical, cultural, and artistic phenomenon.” She combines her research and piano teaching with concert activities, performing over the years in an ensemble with cellist M. Tarasova, and with the “Old Russian Chant” choir under the direction of A. Grindenko.
