Dmitry A. Batalov

Pianist, musicologist. Born in 1997 in Moscow. From 2013 to 2016 he studied at the Central Music School at Moscow Conservatory. After graduating from school, he entered Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory, where he studied both as a musicologist and as a pianist in the piano class of Professor N. V. Trull. Laureate of the San Daniele International Piano Meeting in 2016 and 2017, winner of the Yu. N. Kholopov All-Russian Music Theory Competition (2016). Performs at various venues in Moscow and abroad. He pays special attention to the study and performance of piano and chamber music of the 20th–21st centuries. Since 2018, he has been a pianist in the Reheard Contemporary Music Ensemble, as well as in the “Praktika” Theater Ensemble. Participated in master classes of professors G. Gruzman, G. Otto, F. Turissini, S. Gadzhiev and in workshops of soloists of the “Studio for New Music” and “MCME” ensembles. Author of articles about piano works of D. Ligeti and G. Ustvolskaya.
