Abstract
Art historian and researcher at The State Hermitage Alexei Leporc recalls musicologist, Doctor of Art Criticism, professor at Rimsky-Korsakov St. Petersburg State Conservatory Lyudmila Kovnatskaya. Thanks to the research and organizational activities of Kovnatskaya, festivals, conferences, and concerts dedicated to English classical music and, primary, to Benjamin Britten took place in Russia. The obituary reveals the professional merits and the outstanding personal qualities of L. G. Kovnatskaya.
