Dariya A. Zhurkova
Candidate of Cultural Studies, Senior Researcher at the Mass Media Arts Department, State Institute for Art Studies. She is a graduate of Glazunov Petrozavodsk State Conservatory and Moscow School of Social and Economic Sciences. Author of the books “Temptation by the Beautiful. Classical Music in Contemporary Mass Culture” (New Literature Review, 2016) and “Songs about Nothing? Russian Pop Music at the turn of the epochs: 1980–1990s” (New Literature Review, 2023). Her research interests include Soviet pop music, Russian pop music, and music in film and television.
