Irina B. Teplova
Musicologist, ethnomusicologist, textual critic. Candidate of Art Criticism, Professor of the Ethnomusicology Department of Rimsky-Korsakov St. Petersburg State Conservatory. Graduated from the Musicology Department of the Theoretical and Composer Faculty of St. Petersburg Conservatory in the class of A. M. Mekhnetsov. Participant, head of research groups of more than 60 folklore expeditions to Arkhangelsk, Vologda, Tver, Leningrad, Novgorod, Pskov, Smolensk, Belgorod, Kostroma, Kirov regions, as well as to Northern Italy.
Author of musical and ethnographic publications of folklore materials from various regions of Russia, more than 50 scientific articles and studies devoted to the problems of ethnomusicology, textology and the history of folklore. She deciphered, commented on, and prepared for publication the manuscript of S. M. Lyapunov “Diary of a Trip to the Provinces of Vologda, Vyatka, Kostroma and Yaroslavl in the Summer of 1893 with the Aim of Collecting Russian folk Songs with Melodies” (2015, 2021—2nd ed.). Leads a scientific search in the field of European musical folklore. Recently she has been studying the manuscript heritage of Russian composers, auditory recordings of musical folklore by N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov, A. K. Lyadov, S. M. Lyapunov, E. von Schultz (Adaïewsky).
