Askold V. Smirnov
A lecturer in Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia. He is a researcher in the field of Russian fine art of the 18th century, museum studies, musical iconography and the interaction of fine art and music, history of medicine. He has published sixty scientific publications, including two books on musical iconography: “D. S. Bortnyansky and the Fine Arts: An Album of Iconographic Sources” (2014), “The Easel of Euterpe: Collected Articles on Musical Iconography” (2018, 2nd ed.—2020).
