Elena Pankratova

Dramatic soprano, the first Russian performer of leading roles on the Bayreuth stage (Kundry in Parsifal, Ortruda in Lohengrin), Best Singer 2018 according to the Russian Casta Diva Opera Prize. Guest soloist of the Mariinsky Theater. She has worked on the stages of the world’s leading theaters, including La Scala, Covent Garden, Vienna State Opera, National Opera and Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Mariinsky Theater, La Monnaie Theater, Hamburg State Opera, Bunka Kaikan Theater in Tokyo other. In 2014, together with pianist Andrey Khoteev, she released Pure Mussorgsky on the Berlin Classics label. Born in Yekaterinburg, graduated from Mussorgsky Ural State Conservatory (class of V. Gurevich), later graduated with honors from Rimsky-Korsakov St. Petersburg State Conservatory (class of T. Novichenko). Since 2015—Professor at the University of Music and Theater Graz (Austria), has given master classes at Covent Garden (2014), at the Academy of the Music Festival in Verbier (2015, 2016), at the Teatro La Monnaie and at the Bayreuth Festival (2018).
