Stephan B. Naumovich
Musicologist, Candidate of Art Criticism. He studied music theory at The Gnesins State Musical and Pedagogical College (graduated in 1979) and at Leningrad Conservatory (graduated in 1984). He taught at Glinka Choir School (1987–2001) and St. Petersburg Conservatory (1993–2001). Candidate Dissertation “Ensemble Writing in Monteverdi’s Late Operas” (Rimsky-Korsakov St. Petersburg State Conservatory, 2000). After moving to Germany, he worked at the Dresden Center for Contemporary Music (2003) and at the Paul Sacher Foundation in Basel (2005).
At the same time, he began translating musicological texts. He currently lives in Dresden and performs regularly as a pianist and organist. Since 2003, he has taught music at the Independent Waldorf School in Dresden. Compiler of the collection, translator, author on the afterword and comments of the first edition of selected works of C. Dahlhaus in Russian (St. Petersburg : Izdatel’stvo imeni N. I. Novikova, 2019.)
