Harry Lehmann

German philosopher, author of research papers on the philosophy of music, specialising in New Music. Researcher at the University of Luxem­bourg. He studied physics at St Petersburg State University from 1986 to 1992, from 1992 he studied philosophy at Humboldt University in Ber­lin and philosophy of science at the Univer­sity of Leeds. In 2003, he received his doctorate from the University of Potsdam with a thesis on Niklas Luhmann’s systems theory. His research focuses on the philosophy of art and music, systems theory and the aesthetics of artificial intelligence, and the development of art in the postmodern era. Lehmann’s most detailed work is summarised in three books, “Die digitale Revo­lution der Musik. Eine Musikphilosophie” (Mainz : Schott, 2012); Gehaltsästhetik. Eine Kunst­philo­sophie” (Paderborn : Wilhelm Fink, 2016); Mu­sik und Wirklichkeit. Modelle der Musik­philo­sophie” (Mainz : Schott, 2023).
