Aleksandr V. Kharuto
Born in Moscow, Russia, in 1949. Graduated from Moscow Technical University of Communications and Informatics as a radio engineer (1971), Candidate (on Theory of Communications, 1989). Current position: Head of the Department of Musical Informatics of Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory (since 1994), Associate Professor (since 2004). At 1994began to develop sound analysis software. The program SPAX was registered at Federal Institute of Industrial Property of Russia in 2005, program YourVoice — in 2010. Carried out computer analysis of many academic music and folklore records. The results have been published in more than 100 scientific articles and the book “Computernyy analiz zvuka v muzykal’noy nauke” [Computer Analysis of Sound in Musicology] (2015). Scientific interests: informatics and social science; computer research methods in musicology. Activity areas: teaching of the course “Music Informatics” (lectures and workshops), сomputer analysis of musical phonograms. Published 4 textbooks (2000, 2009, 2010) for music informatics course.
