Margarita I. Katunyan

Candidate of Art Criticism, Associate Professor of the Music Theory Department at Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory. She graduated from the Moscow Conservatory (1973). Supervisors— Professor Inna Barsova (Diploma thesis, 1973) Professor Yuriy Kholopov (Cand. Sci. Dissertation, 1980). She teaches at the Moscow Conservatory. She is the author of over 200 published articles on topics: the history of composition, the Renaissance harmony, basso continuo, the aesthetics and poetics of Baroque music, 19th–21st centuries, structural anthropology (music), Russian avant-garde, electronic music, the history of musical forms, current practices of modern art and music; articles on the work of composers E. Denisov, A. Pyart, V. Martynov, V. Sil’vestrov, E. Artem’ev, I. Sokolov, L. Desyatnikov, poets D.A. Prigov, L. Rubinshtein, V. Sorokin. She is published in Russian and foreign scientific journals and collections, in the Music Encyclopedia, in the Great Russian Encyclopedia. Organizer of international scientific conferences, editor-compiler and participant of international scientific collections. She speaks at international scientific conferences, congresses in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kiev, Vilnius, Berlin, Vienna, Seattle, Leuven (Belgium), Vitebsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Rostov-on-Don.
