Dmitriy Yu. Kapyrin

Composer. Born in 1960 in Moscow. In 1979, he graduated from October Revolution Moscow Music College, then entered Lysenko Lviv State Conservatory, which he graduated from in 1984 (composition class of Leshek Mazepa). Member of the Union of Russian Composers, Asso­cia­tion of Contemporary Music (ACM-2), SACEM. Winner of the 2nd prize of the 12th ICONS Composition Competition (Turin, 1994), winner of the 8th International Composition Competition (Besançon, 1996), scholarship holder of the Ber­­lin Academy of Arts (1995), finalist of the “YouTube Composers Competition” (2010). He was a member of the jury of several international and Russian composing contests. Since 2004—music editor of the Moscow branch of the publishing house “Emergency Exit.” The works of Dmitriy Kapyrin are performed at interna­tional festivals and concerts of contemporary music in Russia, Europe, USA, Japan, and China. He wrote music for performances and collaborated as an arranger with Stanislavsky Moscow Drama Theater, the Moscow Theater of Satire, Gorky Rostov Drama Theater, Voronezh and Rostov Theaters of Young Spectators, Chekhov Moscow Art Theater, “Impromptu” Children's Music Theater, Gogol-center, the center of modern art “Winery.”
