Sergey V. Grokhotov
Professor of the Theory and History of Performing Art Department at Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory. Born in Moscow in 1958. In 1982, graduated from Gnesins State Musical Pedagogical Institute (class of E. Ya. Liberman). In 1990 at Moscow Conservatory, defended his Candidate Dissertation “Johann Nepomuk Hummel and the Piano Art of the First Third of the 19 th Century” (scientific supervisor—A. M. Merkulov). Published over 80 scientific, methodological and educational works, encyclopedic articles and translations of books on music. Amongst his works— the monograph “Schumann and Surroundings. Romantic Walks Through ‘Album für die Jugend’ ” (Moscow, 2006).
