Elena M. Dvoskina

In 1988, she graduated from the Central Music School with specializations in piano (under the supervision of A. S. Sumbatyan and S. L. Dizhur) and music theory (under the supervision of Yu. N. Kho­lopov, E. N. Abyzova, A. A. Agazhanov, V. P. Pavlinova, and V. S. Tsenova). In 1994, she completed her studies at the Faculty of Music Theory and Composition of the Moscow Con­servatory (under the supervision of Yu. N. Kho­lopov), and in 1997, she completed her post­graduate studies at the same institution. In 1998, she defended her candidate’s dissertation on the topic: “Ancient theory of rhythm: Aurelius Augu­stine’s treatise De musica libri sex.” In 1990, she completed a two-year Latin language course at the Greco-Latin Cabinet of Yu. A. Shichalin (instructors: A. I. Solopov, N. A. Fedorov). She was a recipient of a French government scholar­ship (1996–97) and completed an internship at the Institut d’Études Augustiniennes. Since 2007, she has been a faculty member at the Tchaikov­sky Moscow State Conservatory, where she teaches harmony, individual harmony, and score reading and participates in the course “History of Orchestral Styles.” She also teaches at The Gnesins Moscow Special School of Music and serves as a senior researcher at the State Institute for Art Studies. She is a participant in national and international conferences.
