Elena B. Dolinskaya
Doctor of Art Criticism, Professor of the Russian Music History Department at Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory, Honored Art Worker of Russia, Laureate of the Prize of the Government of the Russian Federation in the Field of Culture, Laureate of the Moscow Prize in the Field of Literature and Art, Member of the Union of Composers. Born in Moscow. In 1954, she graduated from the Central Music School, in 1959—with honors from Moscow Conservatory (Theory–Composition and Piano Faculties). She continued her postgraduate studies at Moscow Conservatory (1961–1965, supervisor—B. Yarustovsky). In 1968 she defended her Candidate dissertation “Piano works of N. Medtner,” in 1983—doctoral dissertation “Style of instrumental works of N. Myaskovsky and Modernity” (Moscow Conservatory). E. Dolinskaya took a direct part in the opening of Glinka Magnitogorsk Conservatory, L. & M. Rostropovich Orenburg State Institute of Arts. Since 1960s, she has been teaching the course of history of Russian music of the 20th century at Moscow Conservatory, since 1987—Professor. Author of the monographs: “Fortepiannoe tvorchestvo N. Ya. Myaskovskogo” [Piano Works of N. Myaskovsky] (1980), “Teatr Prokof’eva” [Prokofiev’s Theater] (2012), “Nikolay Metner” [Nikolai Medtner] (2013), “Muzykal’naya galaktika Sergeya Slonimskogo” [The Music Galaxy of Sergey Slonimsky] (2018), as well as numerous collections of scientific works and study guides on 20th century Russian music.
