Filipp I. Chizhevskiy
Conductor, winner of the Golden Mask Award (2019). Born in 1984 in Moscow. He graduated from Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory with a degree in choral conducting (2008, class of S. S. Kalinin) and opera-symphonic conducting (2010, class of V. K. Polyansky). Laureate of the All-Russian Competition of Conductors in Moscow (2008). In 2008–2011—artistic director and conductor of the Gnesins State Music College Choir, lecturer specializing in conducting. Since 2011—lecturer at Moscow Conservatory and conductor of the State Academic Symphony Capella of Russia. Since 2014—guest conductor of the State Academic Bolshoi Theater. Artistic director of the first Baroque festival at the Bolshoi Theater (season 2014/2015). In 2008, together with Mariya Grilikhes founded the ensemble “Questa Musica”, with which he performed many major productions, including: “Dido and Aeneas” by H. Purcell (Gonzaga Theater, 2011), “Francis” by S. Nevsky (Bolshoi Theater, 2012), “Histoire du soldat” by I. Stravinsky (Theater Center on Strastnoy, 2013), the opera series “Sverliytsy” (Stanislavsky Electrotheater, 2015), “Galileo”—opera for violin and scientist (Stanislavsky Electrotheater, 2017), “Fairy Queen” by H. Purcell (Great Hall of Moscow Conservatory, 2017), “Il trionfo del Tempo e del Disinganno” by G. F. Handel (Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Musical Theater, 2018). Within the framework of the V Festival of Contemporary Music “Another Space,” together with V. Yurovsky and F. Ibragimov, he conducted the Russian premiere of “Groups” by K. Stockhausen for three orchestras and three conductors (Moscow Philharmonic, 2017).
