Lev E. Chistyakov

Violinist. Was born in 1942 in Ashgabat. In 1949 began to study the violin with A. G. Shirvindt at the Children’s Music School of the Kirovsky District of Moscow. Graduated from the Musical College at Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory in 1957 in the class of Mikhail Garlitsky. In 1966 he graduated from Moscow Conservatory in the class of Professor B. V. Belen’kiy, and postgraduate school under him in 1969. In 1967–1982 he worked in the Moscow Chamber Orchestra of R. B. Barshay. In 1982–1995 he was a member of the Moscow Virtuosi chamber orchestra under the direction of V. T. Spivakov. From 1982 to 1986 he was an assistant and teacher at Moscow Conservatory in the class of B. V. Belen’kiy. Also in 1982–1990 he taught at the Central School of Music at Moscow Conservatory, from 1995 to 2013—a violin class at Julian Orbon Conservatory of Aviles (Spain).
