Darya A. Tcherkassova

Born in Kemerovo, Russia in 1991. She is a graduate of Shebalin Omsk Music College (2010) and Glinka Novosibirsk State Conservatory (2015) with a specialization in choral conducting. She is also an alumni of the “Music criticism” Master’s program at the Faculty of Liberal Arts and Sciences of the St. Petersburg State University (2018). As part of her masters studies she submitted materials for the press-center of the “Golden Mask” Festival (Moscow, 2017) and the “Diaghilev Festival” (Perm, 2017). In 2017 she completed an educational course about academic writing, criticism and music festival curating at Bard College as well. Under the guidance of her scientific director Olga Manulkina (Associate
Professor, Department of Interdisciplinary Studies and Practices in the Field of Arts, Ph.D. in Art History) she wrote her master’s thesis. The topic was “Wilderness and the composer of the XXI century: the actualization of environmental problems in the works of John Luther Adams.” With a presentation of this topic she took part in the Smolny student conference “Multidisciplinarity in Science and Arts: Challenges of the Future” (2018).
