Boris B. Borodin
Doctor of Art Criticism, Professor, Head of the Department of History and Theory of Performing Arts at the Mussorgsky Ural State Conservatory, a member of the Union of Russian Composers, laureate of the Russian Performing Arts Foundation. Author of over 100 scientific articles and 7 monographs, including “Comic in Music” (Moscow, 2004), “Trajectory of Creativity” (Yekaterinburg, 2006), “History of Piano Transcription” (Moscow, 2011), “Ural Composers’ Organization: History and Modernity” (Yekaterinburg, 2012), “In Dialogues with the Culture of Antiquity” (Moscow, 2020). Author of piano transcriptions of works by Bach, Mozart, Offenbach, Saint-Saens, R. Strauss, Rimsky-Korsakov, Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninov, Mahler, Debussy, performed in Russia and abroad (Israel, Germany, USA). Collections of selected transcriptions by Borodin were published in the series “Masterpieces of Piano Transcription” (publishing house Deka-VS, Moscow), as well as published by the publishing houses “P. Jurgenson,” “Composer,” “Music.”
