Larisa V. Belyakaeva-Kazanskaya

Music critic, lecturer and musicologist, Candidate of Art Criticism, associate professor, Honored Art Worker of Russia, member of the Union of Com­posers of Russia, Union of Composers of St. Pe­ters­­burg, Union of Concert Workers of St. Peters­­burg. In 1968 she graduated from Ka­zan State Con­ser­vatory with a degree in musi­co­logy. In 1983 at Rimsky-­Korsakov Lenin­grad State Conservatory, she defended her candi­date’s dissertation “The paths of forma­tion of Mari symphonic music” (aca­de­mic super­visor—S. L. Ginz­burg). Author of books and articles on the musical culture of St. Pe­ters­burg past and present, and on the work of con­­tem­porary Russian composers. Among them are the books “Essays on the History of Mari Soviet Music,” “Echo of the Silver Age,” “Semyon Lvo­vich Ginzburg. Articles. Memoirs. Materials,” “Sil­houettes of Musical Petersburg,” “Military Mu­sic in St. Petersburg. 1703–1803” (co-authored with G. V. Vilinbakhov, V. I. Tutunov, R. G. Laptev, P. A. La­butin), “On Parnassus of Russian Music,” “Compo­ser Evgeny Rushansky. Personality and Musical World,” “The Unknown Tchaikovsky.” Compiler of the collection “Piano Works by Contemporary Russian Composers on the Given Theme ‘Larisa’.”
