Opera and music critic. Graduated from The Russian State University for the Humanities under Vadim Gayesvky, majored in theatre studies. Since 1995 publishes articles in the Russian press (“Kommersant,” “Bolshoi Theatre Magazine,” “Music Academy,” “The Theatre Magazine”). Chief of the Print and Literary Department of Helikon Opera (1998–2000). Chief of the Print and Literary Department of the Bolshoi theatre of Russia (2001—present). Expert for the Russian National Theatre Award “The Golden Mask” (2019/2020). Gives public (in Moscow and St. Petersburg) and academic (Faculty of Liberal Arts and Sciences of St Petersburg State University, Gnessin Russian Academy of Music) lectures and leads master-classes on opera and critical writing. Takes part in scientific conferences on the history and modern state of opera.
