Methodics for Multi-Microphone Choir Recording and Processing
Methodics for Multi-Microphone Choir Recording and Processing
The article describes the method of a step-by-step sound recording of the choir with further recommendations for its processing, aimed at obtaining a subjectively voluminous auditory picture of the final phonogram. The author offers a universal approach to the selection of multi-microphone recording systems, as well as to the choice of microphones for fixing choral music from the position of analyzing the amplitude-frequency characteristics of specific microphone stereo pairs. The principle of flexible arrangement of microphones is considered from the standpoint of forming sound plans. This technique is applicable to create phonograms both in academic musical genres, and in pop, folk, and others.
